Storage silos

When the production of waste by large woodworking companies is such that considerable quantities are accumulated daily, it becomes necessary to use a storage silo with sufficient air filtering capacity and considerable storage volume.
TAMA polygonal silos can contain considerable quantities of wood discards, starting from 25 and up to 150 m3 and more on request. The silos are made of an upper section where the filtering chamber is housed and a lower section that acts as a container.
TAMA silos are built from modular prefabricated galvanised steel panels. The robustness of the panels utilised and the precise dimensions of the structure enable to increase the diameters and the heights of the silos in order to contain considerable volumes. A steel plate and counter plate are also installed in the upper part of the silos, where the fabric bags are lodged, which make up the filter surface. The filtering surface is variable in relation to the characteristics of the installation. The appropriately sized surface guarantees optimum filtering and allows to reintroduce the cleaned air back into the working environment. The bags are cleaned by motorised vibrators. The silos are anchored to the ground by a U-shaped base. The silos also have a covering with a protective handrail, an access door to the filtering and shaving storage chambers, anti-explosion ports, Plexiglas windows to control the level, an external ladder with protection and air intake and output equipment.

Optionals:

Silos extractor and bridge breaker

Extraction of the accumulated waste material inside the silos is performed by an extractor made up of two leaf springs, which move the sawdust, a horizontal Archimedean screw fixed to the floor of the silos and a rotary valve positioned outside the induction chamber. The extractor breaks up the arch-like conglomerations of shavings that are often created inside the silos during filling. On request, the extractor may be supplied complete with a bridge breaker connected through a central reducer.

Rotary valve

The rotary valve receives the material and distributes it to the Archimedean screw connected to the self-focusing system of the furnace, making all air passages between the silos and the furnace airtight. It may also permit distribution of the material to a collection container.

Loading the container

On request, the material may be unloaded by an Archimedean screw conveyor system that intercepts the material arriving from the extractor and sends it to a collection container. The size depends on the estimated quantity of material to be transported and the desired timing for unloading.
